FIFA TDS: Northern Region keep chase on Ashanti while Great Accra maintain unbeaten run on Match Day 3 of Elite U15 Girls Championship

The Elite U15 Girls Championship is getting increasingly interesting and competitive as Ashanti Region and Greater Accra Region maintained their unbeaten run after three games each in the competition.

WESTERN REGION 0-1 ASHANTI REGION Ashanti Region pipped Western Region in the first game on Match Day 3 to remain unbeaten in the competition. Ruth Ayaaye of Ashanti Region won the most valuable player after scoring the only goal of the match.

NORTHERN REGION 3-1 EASTERN REGION Northern Region recorded a convincing 3-1 victory over Eastern Region to remain im contention for the Group's top spot, sitting closely behind the Ashanti Region. Mohammed Azimpaga, Kasim Belinda and Mohammed Ruhia scored for Northern Region as Vivian Asare got the consolation goal for Eastern Region. Joyce Danso of the Eastern Region was adjudged player of the match following her outstanding performance.

BRONG AHAFO REGION (4) 0-0 (1) UPPER EAST REGION Brong Ahafo Region and Upper East Region battled each other to a goalless draw within regulation time. Brong Ahafo Region came out victorious after the mandatory penalty shootout converting four kicks as against one by Upper East Region. Lantia Sylvia of Upper East Region was named player of the match.

CENTRAL REGION 0-2 GREATER ACCRA REGION Greater Accra Region recorded their third victory on Match Day 3 after defeating Central Region 2-0. Aglebe Venunye and Felicia Achiaa scored the two goals for Greater Accra Region to maintain their unbeaten run. Mary Assan Mensah of Central Region was awarded player of the match.

VOLTA REGION (3) 2-2 (2) UPPER WEST REGION Volta Region recoded their first victory On Match Day 3 after winning 3-2 on penalties over Upper West Region. The game ended 2-2 in regulation time. Awusiwaa Abigail and Evelyn Adonu scored for Volta Region whiles Fati Alhassan and Blessing Vincent netted for Upper West Region. Awusiwaa Abigail was adjudged player of the match.

The games will resume on Sunday for the last group matches as the girls get a rest day on Saturday to regain their lost energies.
