Ghana Football Association announced today that First Capital Plus, a Ghanaian bank has signed up as the sponsor of the Premier League.
The five-year deal worth US$10 million awards First Capital Plus Bank, the title as headline sponsor of the league.
According to the GFA, the deal with the wholly Ghanaian-owned Bank for the sponsorship of the Premier League will commence from the 2014-15 football season.
"We are very delighted about this relationship," Kwesi Nyantakyi said after the signing of the deal which was witnessed by Sports minister, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah.
"Ghanaians are very passionate about football and anyone who decides to sponsor football is sponsoring the passion of the nation.
"First Capital Plus has come at the right time. It has come at a time the premier league has SuperSport as its media sponsor. We will abide by the terms of the contract."
First Capital Plus Bank makes its first break into the Ghana Premier League with the second round of the 2013-14 competition resuming on Wednesday.
This new partnership will see First Capital Plus Bank associate its brand to the elite competition that is broadcast live on international television networks and expand their businesses into new territories.
