Gabon sealed top spot in Group C at the African Cup of Nations on Tuesday by beating Tunisia 1-0 from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s third goal in three games.

Aubameyang collected a pass from Daniel Cousin in the 62nd minute, cut inside and shot past goalkeeper Rami Jeridi via a deflection to set off celebrations at Stade de Franceville and extend the co-host’s perfect start.

Gabon’s entire team danced in a huddle and even coach Gernot Rohr, who has remained calm throughout the country’s giddy group campaign, allowed himself a smile on the sidelines.

Both teams had already qualified for the quarterfinals but Gabon’s third win ensured it topped the group and was now likely to avoid a last eight meeting with Ghana.
