GFA, Black Stars grateful for H.E. Mahama's visit

The Ghana Football Association and members of the Black Stars have expressed gratitude to government for the support extended the team and the visit of the Vice-President, H.E John Dramani Mahama on Sunday afternoon.

H.E. Mahama visited the Ghana camp yesterday afternoon to meet the GFA and also spoke to members of the Black Stars team and staff in Gabon.

GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi said the entire delegation in Franceville are grateful for the visit and the message delivered by H.E. Mahama on behalf of the government and the people of Ghana.

Kwesi Nyantakyi said: "All the players and management in Gabon are working so hard to make this a successful year for Ghana football. We appreciate the support from government and the people of Ghana to win the title.

"Morale in the team is high. And winning the African Cup of Nations would be a huge boost to the whole country who are all behind us."

Black Stars captain, John Mensah added: "It was a great honour to host the Vice-President, H.E John Mahama. His visit spurs us on and gives us a boost that the entire country is behind us. We all really appreciate the message of support."

Ghana open their African Cup of Nations campaign on Tuesday in Group D against Botswana at the Stade de Franceville.
