The GFA Foundation in collaboration with Malta Guinness marked the World Clean up Day / plastics awareness campaign with a beach clean-up exercise yesterday September 16, 2023, calling on citizens to take action to save our beaches from plastic pollution for a sustainable future.
The national plastics clean up campaign by Malta Guinness falls in line with one of the GFA Foundation's thematic area which is, Reduce, Reuse & Recycle initiatives across the Football Association’s operational footprint.
The beach clean-up exercise was undertaken at the De place @ the beach in Sakumono, Accra with the aim of leveraging volunteerism and mass action to reduce the amount of plastic waste going into the ocean.
Staff volunteers from the Ghana Football Association (GFA Foundation), Malta Guinness, Volta College Foundation, individual volunteers and the ever present Die Hard Supporters Union were all involved in the clean up exercise.
