GFA grateful to Malta Guinness for the four-year sponsorship of the Women’s Premier League

The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq. has expressed the football family's profound appreciation to Malta Guinness for the beverage company's investment in football as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Women’s Premier League for four successful years of collaboration.

According to Lawyer Addo, the partnership has played a significant role in supporting and promoting women’s football in Ghana and has helped to elevate the profile and competitiveness of the Women’s Premier League during its duration.

"Since coming on board as headline sponsors, Malta Guinness has contributed immensely to the growth of the women’s game through financial support, branding, visibility, and various promotional activities that enhanced the league’s development" he added.

“On behalf of the Association, the Women’s Premier League clubs and all the stakeholders, I wish to sincerely thank Malta Guinness for their tremendous support and partnership over the past four years, which ends this June ”.

The GFA further acknowledged the company’s impact in helping to further strengthen the women’s league and providing the platform for players and clubs to gain greater recognition nationwide and internationally.

The end of the sponsorship marks the closing of a very important chapter in the development of the Women’s Premier League, which has seen increased attention, improved competitiveness, and rising interest in women’s football across Ghana.

"Our relationship with Malta Guinness has been so successful that both parties are of the view that the giant beverage company will still play some form of significant role in Ghana Football during season.

The Ghana Football Association is expected to announce a new and improved sponsorship arrangement for the Women’s league ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 season.
