The Football Association has held a productive engagement with all eighteen (18) Ghana Premier League clubs as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 season.
The meeting, held on Friday, July 24, 2026, was led by General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo and supported by Acting Director of Competitions Maxwell Caesar Kemeh.
A central focus of the meeting was a comprehensive review of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. Club representatives provided frank and constructive feedback on the organisation of the competition, acknowledging areas of progress while identifying opportunities for further improvement.
The clubs were also taken through the fixtures for the upcoming season, with discussions centered on ensuring adequate preparations and strengthening collaboration between the GFA and clubs to deliver a more competitive, attractive and professionally managed league.
Wide-ranging deliberations covered key operational and commercial aspects of the competition, including match scheduling, stadium availability, kick-off times, TV production and broadcasting, matchday experience, ticketing, security, officiating, disciplinary matters, integrity and ethics, publicity and promotion, reporting and match observers, as well as the festive season calendar.
Particular emphasis was placed on improving fan attendance through affordable and innovative ticketing models, while balancing fixture schedules with broadcasting, security, travel and venue considerations.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of investing in colts football and youth development to create a sustainable talent pipeline for Ghana football. Clubs were further encouraged to strengthen their support for women's football as part of the game's broader development agenda.
General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo commended the clubs for their openness and constructive contributions, reaffirming the GFA's commitment to continuous engagement as the new season approaches.
As part of that commitment, the Football Association will hold a follow-up meeting with the clubs on Monday July 27, 2026, focusing on the registration of youth players.
