The Ghana Football Association through the GFA Foundation and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) will launch a Road Safety Campaign tomorrow, 4th December.
The GFA-NRSA Road Safety Awareness Campaign is a collaborative initiative between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) aimed at raising awareness about road safety in Ghana.
After the launch, there will be a Defensive and Refresher Drivers’ Training for all drivers of GPL, WPL, Division One League Clubs, GFA Staff and partners.
Officials from the Core Care Group, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and St. Johns Ambulance will be available to check basic health status (eye and prostrate), renew licenses of drivers, take participants through first aid.
Officers from the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) and the Ghana Fire Service will educate participants on Road Traffic Regulations and fire prevention drills respectively.
The two entities have agreed to use the power of football to create awareness and spread road safety messages to reduce road traffic accidents and fatalities.
The GFA and the National Road Safety Authority have been discussing the proposed partnership since April this year.It is expected that this campaign will help to reduce the carnage on our roads drastically.
