The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched its Free License D Coaching Course for colts and women’s club coaches in the Eastern Region. The course, which began on August 15, is being held at All Nations University and is scheduled to conclude on August 22.

A total of 40 coaches are participating in this significant training initiative, with 30 coaches representing colts (juvenile) clubs and 10 coaches from women's clubs. The GFA has made this course accessible at no cost to all participants, underscoring its commitment to enhancing the quality of coaching at the grassroots level.

This initiative is part of the GFA's broader strategy to address the fundamental challenges in football coaching across the country. By equipping grassroots coaches with the necessary skills and knowledge, the GFA aims to lay a strong foundation for the development of football talent in Ghana.

The course in the Eastern Region is one of many that the GFA plans to roll out across the country as part of its ambitious plan to train 900 coaches over a three-year period. The focus is not only on improving coaching standards but also on ensuring that young players receive quality training and mentorship from well-equipped coaches.

As the course continues, participants will undergo rigorous training sessions designed to improve their tactical understanding, technical skills, and overall approach to coaching. Participants will also receive Safeguarding training focusing on creating a safe and an enabling environment for young girls and boys to play football.

At the end of the program, all coaches will receive certificates recognising their successful completion of the course.

The GFA's commitment to grassroots development is evident in initiatives like this, which not only uplift the standard of coaching but also contribute to the long-term growth and success of Ghanaian football.
