The Black Queens of Ghana scored three first half goals to defeat Les Amazones of Benin 3:0 in an international friendly at the Stade de l’Amitie in Cotonou Sunday.

Black Queens started the game on a good note creating an early chance in the 3rd minute but Evelyn Badu was ruled offside.

The defensive pair of Janet Egyir and Portia Boakye denied the host as they were solid at the back.

Princella Adubea coolly opened the scoring for the Queens through a delightful cross in midfield from Grace Asantewaa in the 28th minute. The Queens dominated and had many chances but couldn’t utilize any.

Princess Owusu came closer on several occasions but made it count in the 37th minute to double the lead for Ghana, a debut goal for her.

The Queens cut open the host from midfield and Evelyn Badu applied the finishing touch with a volley right at the end of half time to go into the break with a three-goal lead.

Chances continued to fall for both sides after the break with Black Queens having the best of them in a frantic encounter.

Nora Hauptle made several changes but that did not change the tempo of the game. The host made several attempts but were denied by Cynthia Fiindib Konlan as the Black Queens held on to a 3:0 win.
