An under-strength Ghana drew 1-1 against Chile on Wednesday night in Philadelphia as debutant Richard Mpong scored his first senior goal.
Mpong came off the bench in the first half following injury to Dominic Oduro, who was playing his first start to score when he fired past Claudio Bravo in the 42nd minute.
Chile's Matias Campos was shown a straight red-card after 70 minutes for a wild challenge on an opponent.
The Black Stars could not hold on for a memorable win in the friendly international at the PPL Park as Goran Stevanovic also handed striker Emmanuel Baffour his first senior cap.
The hosts fielding a full strength side which included Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, Humberto Suazo and Eduardo Vargas equalised five minutes later from the spot when Matias Fernandez scored.
Oduro, starting his first international game picked up a knock and was taken off just after 17 minutes in the game which Stevanovic made just three changes.
Ghana made four half-time substitutions with with Lee Addy coming on for John Boye, Afriyie Acquah for Anthony Annan, Daniel Opare for Masawudu Alhassan and Patrick Nyarko for Sulley Muntari.
Abdul Warris was the last change for Ghana when he entered for goal scorer, Mpong.
Ghana picked up four bookings with captain John Paintsil, Derek Boateng, Mensah and Opare all entering the referee's books.
The game was Ghana's first since their semi-final exit at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations .
