Michael Essien is expected to turn up for Ghana's African Cup of Nations campaign next month fully fit, says Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
The midfielder has been receiving treatment at Chelsea on his injured hamstring after which he would be travelling to the tournament in Angola to play for the Black Stars.
Ancelotti told the club’s website that Essien should be fit to play for Ghana after recovery.
“He will go I think, in one week he will be ready to go to play for the African Cup,” Ancelotti said.
Essien has been out of action since suffering a hamstring tear against Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League on December, 8.
