Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been recovering quicker than anticipated from a knee injury and his progress has delighted the Ghana Football Association.
Executive Committee member Felix Ansong, representing the GFA, visited the Udinese midfielder on Wednesday in Italy to check up Agyemang-Badu's progress.
Agyemang Badu suffered the injury while playing for the Black Stars at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in February.
The player has expressed immense gratitude to the GFA following the interest shown in his welfare.
"I want to say thank you to the GFA for sending Mr. Ansong to check on me. I really appreciate it," said Agyemang-Badu.
"It is always an honour for me to play for my country Ghana and I really thank them for this. It means a lot to me."
Felix Ansong, who is also a member of the Black Stars management committee was happy with the progress made by Agyemang-Badu.
"I am happy with the progress Emmanuel is making since suffering that injury at the Africa Cup of Nations," Ansong told Ghanafa.org.
“He is now jogging and that is good news for all of us. We pray he gets better so that he can return to playing the game he loves most.
"The GFA has been regularly checking on him through phone calls but we needed to come here to visit him and show him that we really care about him."
Agyemang-Badu is expected back in action before the end of the season in Italy.
