Ghana will today discover their 2010 FIFA World Cup group opponents when the draw is made in Cape Town.

The world's television networks are focused on Africa as Fifa's selected stars at the International Convention Centre pull plastic balls out of pots to determine the eight groupings of four teams each.

Milovan Rajevac's side are placed in Pot 3 ahead of the draw meaning the Black Stars will avoid the other five representatives from the continent with an Africa team yet to win the World Cup since its inception.

Despite the enduring wait ahead of today's draw, Rajevac says it wouldn’t be a problem if the Black Stars are drawn against England, who have been seeded.

"England have a very good coach but I think Ghana playing England wouldn't be a problem," the Ghana coach said.

But the Serbian is keen for Ghana to avoid some pre-tournament favourites in the group stages as well as his native Serbia.

Five-time World champions Brazil, reigning European champions Spain and Argentina are the sides Rajevac would want to meet later in the competition.

"Any team is okay but I don't like Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Serbia. These teams play very good maybe not now, maybe quarterfinals and final," the Serbian said.

"Serbia is a very good team and strong and experienced too."

However, when the big show gets under way at 17:00 GMT [5.00pm local time], every side will know opponents the draw will throw at them.

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron will also be in attendance.

Football greats such as Michel Platini, Eusebio, Luis Figo, Roger Milla, Lucas Radebe, Ruud Gullit and David Beckham together with athlete Haile Gebrselassie and South Africa's rugby union captain, John Smit, will play key roles during the draw ceremony.

It promises to be exciting as the media will be on hand to tag teams that make up the 'Group of Death'.

Must know facts

• Going by the approved procedure for the final draw, Ghana will certainly not be entered into Group A, where hosts, South Africa will be automatically positioned.

• The Black Stars will be drawn into any of the other groups B-H, but will not be in position “1” of their group.

• geographical criteria will also be respected, meaning that no two teams from the same confederation will be drawn in the same group. For example, South Africa cannot play the African teams from Pot 3.
