Ghana has slipped down on the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World ranking table.

The Black Stars have surprisingly dropped to the 36th position from the 31st place in the new rankings released Wednesday.

Several teams have added to their points tally in recent weeks without playing a single match due to a devaluation of results but the same cannot be said for Ghana.

The Black Stars still keeps a strong place among the top five sides in Africa.

Ghana with 750 points after losing 25 points from the previous month are placed third on the continental ranking table.

Cameroon remains Africa's top-rated national side followed by Nigeria in that order.

Reigning European champions Spain remain unchallenged at the top of the table with a comfortable lead with the Netherlands moving second while Germany drops third.

Fifa says 21 'A' international matches were taken into account in this edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking were all friendly matches.

However this will change in the next edition, with the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 unfolding and qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa resuming.

And that will no doubt lead to movement in the ranking.
