Ghana would play for one of the five places allocated to Africa at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after FIFA made no changes in the number of qualification slots.

The Black Stars have participated in the last two competitions as they were the best side from the continent after reaching the quarter-finals at the 2010 edition hosted by South Africa.

FIFA said on Thursday there would be no change in the number of qualification slots allocated to each continent when the South American nation hosts of the 32-team tournament.

The decision means that Asia keeps 4.5 places, Oceania half a place, Africa five, Concacaf 3.5 and Europe 13.

South America remain with 4.5 while Brazil will qualify automatically as host.
