Ghana top the African group D qualifying table for the 2010 World Cup, three points clear ahead of the second-placed side after earning an important win over the weekend.
The Black Stars, looking to land a second successive World Cup berth pulled a 2-0 win over Mali in Bamako to make it two wins out of two matches played.
But players of the team are not relenting on their success last Sunday.
Matthew Amoah, who scored the decisive second goal against the Malians says Ghana still has to travel a long road before reaching the 2010 World Cup.
“Sudan will be a new game so we have to prepare well,” he said to kickoffghana.com.
"It should be a similar approach to the way we played against Mali and defend well.”
“The victory in Mali is really important and good for us, but now we have to change focus and think about Sudan because it is going to be very tough.”
Sunday's win has renewed a sense of belief around the country that a second shot at the World Cup to be hosted for the first in Africa is possible though Amoah has warned his teammates they need to focus.
“I hope it will be points guaranteed. We are going there to win three points but there are four games remaining so it has to be a match-after-match approach.
“Mali is past, we have to think about Sudan. If we think like that everything is going to be easy for us.”
