Ghana's FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup heroines got the ministerial seal of approval Wednesday as they were treated to dinner by the Greater Accra Minster.
Hon. Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo was the host at the reception given to the members of Black Maidens team who won bronze and a Ghana Football Association delegation including its President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The dinner at the regional minister's residence comes after joyous scenes on their arrival on Monday and meeting at the seat of Government with the President of Ghana, H.E. John Mahama yesterday.
Ghana's U-17 women's team last Saturday finished third at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 after beating Germany 1-0.
And that feat which handed them bronze is Ghana's best-ever finish at a FIFA women’s competition and the furthest by any African side at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
