Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have dropped points in their respective week 2 matches, which registered fewer goals than the opening week.
Week 2 begun on an exciting note in Obuasi, as Ashantigold and Great Olympics sold out an entertaining four-goal thriller.
Hans Kwofie smashed the first hat-trick of the season for the miners, who beat Great Olympics 3:1 on their return to the Premier League.
Sunday however, proved to be a tight day as only five goals were scored in five matches, with two games failing to register a single goal.
In Accra, Hearts of Oak drew their second successive match of the season with Medeama SC. The Phobians, who haven't beaten Medeama in the league in Accra in a while, followed their week one scoreless draw with another 0:0 draw.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko also registered a 0:0 draw with Chelseain Berekum. Unlike the Phobians, Kotoko won their opening day match in Kumasi and are now on four points.
In Elmina, the much-anticipated historic match between Elmina Sharks and Aduana Stars ended in disappointment for Sharks, who made their Ghana Premier League debut against Aduana Stars.
Sharks did not play last week due the engagement of their week opponents, Wa All Stars in Africa. And on a day they were expecting to launch a grand entry into the Premier League, Godfred Saka ruined their day with the only goal of the match for Aduana Stars.
In Dansoman, Liberty Professionals scored two late goals to condemn Inter Allies to a 2:0 defeat. The game had looked to be ending in a draw until Bernard Arthur scored with eight minutes to go. Liberty sealed the win two minutes later Gerald Arkson.
In Sogakope, WAFA also defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 2:0. Gideon Waja and Komlan Agbeniadan were the scorers for the academy boys.
After two matches, Aduana Stars are on top of the league and the only side with a 100% record.
Defending champions, Wa All Stars and Bechem United are yet to play a game due to their engagements in CAF inter-club competitions.
