After failing to win in the first three games of the season, Accra Hearts of Oak defeated bogey side Wa All Stars to end their winless run.

Hearts of Oak defeated the Champions 2:1 in a dramatic fashion at the Accra Sports Stadium. Alexandre Kouassi opened the scoring for the Phobians in the 35th minute and they held on till seven minutes from time before Richard Arthur.

But Thomas Abbey gave Hearts their first win of the season when he grabbed the match winner just two minutes after All Stars' equaliser. The match was All Stars' first game of the season due to their CAF Inter-club competition.

Bernard Arthur opened the scoring in the 5th minute but Justice Blay cancelled it out for Medeama in the 31st minute. Elmina Sharks won their first match of their season with a 1:0 win over Tema Youth in Elmina. With the match heading for a draw, Isaac Mensah scored a dramatic late goal in the 90th minute to hand Sharks the win, which would also go down as their first ever win in the Ghana Premier League.

Fellow Premier League debutants Bolga All Stars also won their first ever Premier League match, defeating Great Olympics 1:0 in Tamale. Samuel Norgbey scored the important goal through the spot in the 50th minute.

Meanwhile the match between Ashantigold and Asante Kotoko was rescheduled to Monday following a heavy downpour.
