Asamoah Gyan believes Ghana would continue with their winning start to the year by beating Congo in a crucial 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier on Sunday.
The Black Stars started 2011 with a thumping 4-1 win over Togo in an international friendly in February, a game that Gyan missed and which happened to new coach, Goran Stevanovic's debut.
Gyan, the leading striker for the national team would again be missing for Ghana as he's suspended for the game in Brazzaville after getting a red card in the last qualifying game against Sudan at home.
On Sunday, he would be a spectator but insists his colleagues have the ability to overcome their opponents in the away tie at the Alphonse Massamba Debat Stadium.
"I know my teammates have the ability to overcome Congo even though they have a tough team," Gyan said in an interview with SuperSport.
"I know a lot of expectations are on our shoulders but God willing we are going to go through. The team has managed to prepare well and I will give them my moral support."
Ghana tops Group I on goal difference with four points and ahead of Sudan who are themselves are at home to Swaziland.
The Black Stars are one point ahead of their opponents for Sunday as both sides chase qualification places at the 2012 Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
