Asamoah Gyan has collected the top individual honour in Ghana sports for the year 2010.
The Black Stars striker was named the Sports Personality of the Year at the 36th edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Awards on Saturday.
Gyan had an outstanding 2010, as he was decisive in helping the Black Stars reach the final of the African Cup of Nations in Angola and the last eight of the World Cup in South Africa.
He scored six goals in both tournaments out of Ghana's total haul of nine for the year year under review as he edged national teammate, Richard Kingson boxing world champion Joseph Agbeko to the award.
It was a night to remember, with Gyan also been awarded the 2010 Ghana Footballer of the Year.
The Sunderland player beat off competition from Richard Kingson and Andre Ayew.
