Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan scored from the spot to earn his club, Rennes a point in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday against Nice.

The game ended 1-1 with Nice jumping into the lead before Gyan rescued his side from defeat when he slotted in the equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

Gyan was replaced with 11 minutes of play remaining.

Injuries last term limited the striker's playing chances but he remains hopeful of staying fit this time round.
