Coaches and players of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies - the two finalists of the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League have addressed the media ahead of the epic showdown on Saturday June 8, 2024.

The two teams will go at each other to determine the ultimate winner of the 2023-24 Malta Premier Premier League season at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Kickoff is 19:00GMT (7pm local time).

In a presser organised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at its headquarters in Accra, officials and players took turns to answer questions from the media ahead of the titanic clash.

Here are the major takeaways from the press conference held on Friday June 7, 2024.

Hasaacas Ladies Assistant Coach Emmanuel Kwasi Mensah on team’s readiness for the game.

“We are excited to be in the final again because the other nine teams in the Southern zone would love to be here, it is not easy to make it to final but it took us a lot of hard work to get to this point.

“We started the season on a good note in the first round with about 8 point difference till Faith Ladies narrowed it down with just a match more to go.

“Winning 3-0 against Faith Ladies to book a slot in the final gave us a lot of confidence. We are now focused on winning the Premier League trophy before we can think of the CAF Women’s Champions League as we were close to winning it until Mamelodi Sundown defeated us”.

On his part, the Head Coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Nana Joe Adarkwah said his players were ready and prepared to defend the title they won last season.

"We went for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League, when we came back, my players were very tired. So we found it difficult to win some of our matches but we came as winners of our zone, which is Northern sector, and now we are in the main final with my best friends from the Hasaacas Ladies again,"

"We're coming to battle for the Cup and definitely we'll be champions again."

Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward, N-Yanyimaya Gnabekan also spoke about their chances against Hasaacas Ladies.

"During the Champions League, we played fantastic football but upon our return, our league games in the northern zone wasn't easy. That notwithstanding, with determination and focus, we became successful again and are champions,"

“We are back to play in the finals and we believe in ourselves and we are ready for the game."
