Hearts of Oak put in a performance to calm the tensions in their camp following coach David Duncan's dismissal as the Phobians won 1-0 against Amidaus Professionals.

The former coach who was at the Tema Stadium on Sunday claimed the plaudits as the Club's fans mobbed him after the game.

A second minute goal by Owusu Bempah helped them to an important victory which has seen them cut the gap at the top to one point.

Their rivals, Asante Kotoko who were four points clear before Sunday's round of matches lost 2-0 away to AshantiGold.

However for the Phobians, the victory will help assuage the fears of their supporters who have kicked against the Board's decision last Friday to sack Duncan.

Though most fans are still reeling from the dismissal of the coach, closing in on the Champions at the summit could turn their attentions to the bigger picture of battling Kotoko for the top.
