Competition: International friendly

Teams: Ghana v Zambia

Match Venue: Matchroom Stadium, Leyton, London

Date: 12 August 2009

Organizers of the international friendly between Ghana and Zambia scheduled for London on Wednesday say they are anticipating a reasonable turnout due to the demand for match tickets.

Both African sides clash in the high profile fixture at the Matchroom Stadium (also called Brisbane Road), the grounds of English League One side, Leyton Orient on August 12.

According to the organizers, both nations are expected to arrive in London on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s pre-match conference where selected players and officials would be on hand to meet the media.

Fifa referee Andre Mariner has been appointed by the English FA as the match referee.

However, concerns that the Zambians are struggling to secure UK visas for some squad members has been dispelled.

Wednesday’s friendly forms part of the preparations by the two teams ahead of the African qualifying for the 2010 World Cup which resumes in September.
