The much-awaited Premier League season kicked off on a blistering note as Inter Allies thrashed Bechem United 3:0 in Tema
Dan Amanfo scored the historic first goal of the season before Nigerian Victorien Adje Adebayor’s hit a remarkable brace to give Allies a dream start to the campaign.
The match marked a joyous return to the Ghana Premier League for former Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who joined Inter Allies ahead of the season.
After a goalless first half, Allies returned from the break with verve, scoring two goals in seven minutes. Dan Amanfo scored the first goal of the season in the 51st minute before Adebayor scored the first of his two goals to double the lead in the 58th minutechi .
Adebayor scored his second of the afternoon in the 73rd minute to seal the comfortable win for Inter Allies.
The remaining matches of the opening day fixtures continue on Sunday with WAFA hosting Asante Kotoko at Sogakope in a match expected to be a cracker.
Debutants Techiman Eleven Wonders will also host Accra Hearts of Oak in a dream fixture for the home side.
In Cape Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs will welcome Berekum Chelsea while Ashantigold will face Wa All Stars at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
At Dawu, Dreams FC will host Elmina Sharks.
