Joseph Tetteh-Zutah joins Technical Directorate as Manager of Elite football academies

Retired footballer Joseph Tetteh-Zutah has joined the Technical Directorate as Manager of the GFA Elite football academies.

The former Medeama SC captain who previously worked as an administrator of the club comes in with loads of experience having also worked as Administrative Manager and acting Chief Executive Officer of the mauves and yellows and currently the Vice President of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).

Tetteh-Zuta is expected to ensure the smooth running of the academies with the aim of ensuring that the best talents in the country are scouted, trained and developed.

The GFA Elite football academy project has taken off at Winkogo in the Upper East region with two others set to be commissioned in the Ashanti region and the Greater Accra region to serve the other football zones.

The concept which is open to boys and girls aims to partner with some selected Senior High Schools to establish academies across the country, where players scouted at the junior high school level will be screened and placed in senior high schools in the three football zones.

Joseph Tetteh-Zutah, a product of the University of Cape Coast, played for Ghanaian champions Medeama SC and Young Africans of Tanzania before veering into full time football administration.

He led Medeama SC to win their first Premier League title last season. Other personal honors include the MTN FA Cup triumph in 2013/14, the Tanzania Premier League with Young Africans in 2015/16 as well as Super Cup titles with the two teams in 2015/16 and 2022/2023 respectively.
