KGL U17 Colts: Ashanti square off with Northern Region; Central clash with Brong Ahafo on Match Day 5
Ashanti Region will be looking to return to winning ways when they square off against Northern Region in Group A of the ongoing KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Tuesday July 30, 2024.
The defending champions will be eager to find some consistency with their performances after picking three points from two games.
Despite a bright opening in the famous talent identification Championship, Ashanti Region were convincingly beaten 2-0 by Group A leaders Volta Region on Sunday July 28.
They come up against a Northern Region side which is bruised after losing 4-0 in their opening match against Brong Ahafo Region.
The young starlets from the North won't be pushovers despite their heavy opening defeat and will aim to rewrite the script against the defending champions.
The match takes place at the GFA's Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram, scheduled for 10am local time and will be broadcast live on various platforms including the GFA App, GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.
In the second Group A match, Central Region will take on Brong Ahafo Region in what promises to be an exciting clash.
Central will be aiming to recover from their 4-1 defeat to Ashanti Region in their opening game while Brong Ahafo will seek to build on their impressive win over Northern Region. Match kicks off at 14:00GMT (2pm local time) and will also be broadcast live on various platforms including the GFA App, GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.
The stage is set for an enthralling Match Day 5 on Tuesday July 30 as the Championship takes shape.
The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, launched in 2021, has been an avenue for talent discovery for clubs, particularly Premier and Division One League clubs, with several players being beneficiaries of the esteemed competition.
The ten Regional Football Associations have selected the best U17 players from their Colts competitions to represent their regions in the Championship which is aimed at identifying, training and developing young talents for the national youth teams.
