KGL U17 Colts: Sensational Musah Ahmed Sharafadeen on target as Northern beat Volta to clinch Third Place

Young talented forward Musah Ahmed Sharafadeen scored the decisive goal for Northern Region in their 1-0 win over Volta Region to clinch the Third place playoff at the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Thursday August 8, 2024.

Sharafadeen, who is now the leading top scorer in the talent identification Championship with six goals, drilled home a sweet strike inside the 18-yard box in the 85th minute to separate the two teams at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram.

Northern Region deservedly clinched the third place match after a hard-fought victory against their opponent.

Musah Ahmed Sharafadeen, the most talked about youngster in the Championship, was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP), becoming the first player to win the individual award three times in the Championship this year.

It marked a disappointing end to the Championship for Volta Region, which had been tipped as one of the huge favourites to win the Championship.

But they should hold their heads high after finishing a comforting fourth, in a Championship which is in its fourth year.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, launched in 2021, has been an avenue for talent discovery for clubs, particularly Premier and Division One League clubs, with several players being beneficiaries of the esteemed competition.

The famous Championship is aimed at identifying, training and developing young talents for the national youth teams.
