The Ghana Football Association has handed fines after deciding on a number of cases from recent Premier League matches.
Clubs and persons affected by the Disciplinary decisions are: Bernard Don Bortey, New Edubiase, Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions.
All the cases are related to incidents that happened on match-day-3 and 5.
Player charged: Club : Don Bortey (New Edubiase) for match-day-3 incident
Case: The Match Officials of the above-mentioned match has reported to the GFA that Player Don Bortey of New Edubiase insulted the Match Commissioner before the match when Reserve Players were ordered to proceed to their technical bench. This incident occurred in the tunnel.
Decision: In accordance with Article 35(3)(a) of the Regulations Player Don Bortey is liable to a fine of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Gh¢500.00).
Club charged: Asante Kotoko for match-day-3 incident
Case: The Match Officials of the above-mentioned match has reported to the GFA that the Cameraman of Asante Kotoko (David Kyei) misconduct himself by arguing and abusing the Match Commissioner. He was also reported to have threatened that if he was not allowed entry into the inner perimeter the match was not going to kick off. He was also reported to have phoned supporters of Asante Kotoko to incite them against the match officials.
Decision: His attitude is in clear contravention of Article 35(3)(a) of the Regulations. Asante Kotoko is liable to a fine of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Gh¢ 500.00)
Club charged: Heart of Lions for match-day-5 incident
Case: The Match Officials of the above-mentioned match has reported to the GFA that Heart of Lions DELAYED kick –off for 8 minutes due to the absence of an Ambulance in accordance with Article 42(1) of the Regulations. The delay is in breach of Article 23(1)(A) of the Regulations.
Decision: In accordance with Article 23(1)(b) of the Regulations Heart of Lions is liable to a fine of One Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (Gh¢1,250.00)
Club charged: New Edubiase for match-day-5 incident
Case: It has been reported by the Match Officials that players’ of New Edubuase sprinkled both solid and liquid items on the field of play during the warm-up period contrary to Article 35(3)(a) of the Regulations.
Decision: In accordance with Article 35(3)(a) of the GFA Regulations New Edubiase shall be liable to a fine of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Gh¢ 500.00).
