Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes form guide makes Asante Kotoko favourites to win the 'Super Clash' against Hearts of Oak.

Both sides head into Sunday's derby at the Baba Yara Stadium having won their previous matches in the Glo Premier League.

Despite a slow start, either side retain a firm ambition of winning the Premier League title and know the outcome of their meeting will prove decisive.

The Phobians are lying 12th on the standings, three points adrift their rivals who are placed 7th.

For Didi Dramani, the Porcupine Warriors are very determined to win this particular game which will be Hearts of Oak coach, David Duncan's debut game in charge of the Phobians.

“We are obsessed with beating Hearts because our aim is to climb to second place this Sunday and jump to the top before the end of the first round,” Kotoko coach told GNA.

“I disagree with those who say form guide plays no role in football. It does a lot in the modern game and we will seek to capitalize on our current form on Sunday.

“We know the pedigree of the Hearts team, their weaknesses and we hope to use our strength to our advantage.”

Sunday's clash will be the third time a new face leads the Phobians in seven matches following the sacking of C.K. Akonnor after five matches and assistant coach Ben Adjei's one-game tenure.

The changes, according to the Kotoko coach will up the stakes as players of Hearts of Oak will be determined to impress Duncan.

“It will be a very emotional game especially for Hearts because of their present circumstances and the fact that they have a new coach. The players will want to 'kill' themselves to catch his attention in a big game like this one.”

Despite praising Duncan for his quality, Didi Dramani insists it's too early for the former AshantiGold man to turn around things with the Phobians.

“I respect (David) Duncan because he is a good coach and his track record.”

“I don't expect much from him because he is new at the club but it is not enough to underestimate his side.”
