Asante Kotoko extended their record start to a fifth successive win after earning a 1-0 hard-fought win over Inter Allies on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
A second half header courtesy Yahaya Mohammed ensured that the Porcupine Warriors pulled away by three clear points from rivals, Hearts of Oak.
Inter Allies were left deflated after holding the champions for a greater part of the game until Mohammed eluded his marker to nod in the winner from a corner kick in the 85th minute.
The defeat leaves the league debutants bottom as that was their fifth consecutive loss in the top-flight.
Kotoko are bidding to maintain their winning start as they face competition from rivals, Hearts of Oak, who are in second place.
