Asante Kotoko appeared back on track with an important 3-1 win over Liberty Professionals on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Premier League.
The victory seems to mend the cracks that had emerged following a change of guard in the technical team last week when coach David Duncan was asked to step aside for his assistant Michael Osei to take charge of team duties.
Liberty stormed into an early lead through Latif Blessing, a goal which seemed to open up old wounds for the Porcupine Warriors, who had to endure a poorly attended game.
However, Osei and his charges were handed some reprieve when Maxwell Mensah in the 25th minute scored an own goal to bring Kotoko on level pegging.
Kotoko then jumped into the lead before the 40th minute through Dauda Mohammed and held onto their lead going into the break.
In the second half, Kotoko managed to put the game beyond Liberty when they got the third goal from a penalty which was converted by Amos Frimpong.
The win lifts them off the foot of the table to ninth place.
