Goran Stevanovic is not ruling out Adam Kwarasey from playing a part in the third-place play off at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nation against Mali on Saturday.
The 24 year-old came off with an injury during training on Friday.
The Black Stars shot-stopper has kept post in five matches so far at the tournament but his worrying knee resurfaced on the eve of the match.
But Stevanovic said: “I have not taken my decision on him,” as the Black Stars coach awaits his number one goalkeeper to pass a late fitness test for the game at the Estadio Nuevo in Malabo.
Ghana has two substitutes, Daniel Agyei and Ernest Sowah who can step in for Kwarasey as both await the chance to make their Nations Cup debut.
“He has some problem with the knee but after getting the reports I would see what I would do tomorrow. But I haven’t taken a decision yet.”
Stevanovic also has four players ruled out for the game against the Eagles.
“I have four players, Agyemang-Badu, John Mensah, Derek Boateng and John Boye who are out,” he said.
“They are all very important players for us during this competition. But it’s important that other players get the chance.”
