Ashantigold have seen their lead on the First Capital Plus Premier League table reduced to one point after being held to a goalless draw in their Week 26 game against Bechem United.

Ashgold went into today’s match hoping to secure the maximum points to extend their lead on the league table but a rather determined Bechem United side managed to get a point from the game.

The Bechem United who have not fully escaped from the claws of relegation now have 34 points while Ashgold have 45 points, just one point away from second placed Aduana Stars.

In another tough clash at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park, Hearts of Oak managed a slim victory over their city-rivals to give them some hope of staying in the topflight league.

The Phobians who are 15th on the league table are desperate to escape relegation and Foovi Aguide’s lone goal provided them with some tonic for the upcoming league matches.
