Legon Cities host Hearts of Oak Sunday

Legon Cities will battle Hearts of Oak at the El-Wak Stadium - a game that presents a huge opportunity for both sides to turn their season around.

Accra Hearts of Oak will go into the game looking to redeem themselves following the 5-1 loss to Medeama SC last weekend.

The former champions were battered by the Tarkwa lads to further deepen their woes.

Their first leg encounter ended 0-0 with Hearts of Oak winning once in their last three games with the other two ending in a draw.

Legon Cities sit in 11th place with 40 points having recorded three wins and two losses in their last five matches.

Hearts of Oak have won one of their last five matches losing four of the games and sit 8th with 45 points. The Phobians are winless in their last five away matches under acting head coach David Ocloo.

Captain Gladson Awako is back in the side but it’s unclear if he would start the match against the Royals. Salifu Ibrahim, KonaduYiadom, Celeb Amankwah, Benjamin York, Kwadwo Obeng Junior and Eric Esso are all in contention for a starting place.

Legon Cities have the likes of Eric OseI Bonsu, Alex Aso, Michel Otou and Nii Gyashie BorteyAcquah available for the game.

The match will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247.

In Bibiani, Gold Stars will host relegated Kotoku Royals at the Dun’s Park. Kotoku Royals won the first leg 3-2 at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Berekum Chelsea will battle Nsoatreman FC at the Golden City Park. Nsoatreman FC won 1-0 in their week 31 game against Real Tamale United with Berekum Chelsea also losing 2-0 against Dreams FC. Nsoatreman FC sit 14th with 40 points while occupy the 4th spot in the League log. 

 

In Sogakope, 16th placed Accra Great Olympics will battle Accra Lions in the Accra derby. Their first leg ended 3-0 in favour of Accra Lions with Abass Samari Salifu scoring one and Jacob Amu Mensah netting 2 goals to get the home team all the three points. 

Finally on Sunday - Real Tamale United who are winless in their last two games will face third placed Bechem United the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

RTU have won one, drawn two and lost two in their last five matches having accumulated 40 points and in sit 13th place. Bechem United have amassed 51 points and sit in 3rd place with just 5 points separating them from leaders Medeama SC who have 56 points. The Hunters have won three of their last five matches with one draw and one defeat in the league.
