Hearts of Lions began the new season on a positive note after beating New Edubiase 2-0 at the Kpando Stadium.

Two goals in the first half gave Lions a win in their opening match of the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Premier League.

Isaac Twum 4th minute strike gave Coach Yussif Abubakar side their first goal of the season before Osman Muntaka added the second goal of the day in the 37th minute.

At the Essipong stadium in Sekondi, Liberty Professionals were suffered a defeat on Match day on as hosts Seokondi Hasaacas cruised to a 3-1 victory to earn them their first win of the season.

Frederick Quayson scored the opener for Hasaacas in the 19th minute with Samuel Afful adding the second in the second half.

Afful scored again in the 75th minute after the home side were awarded a penalty. Alfred Azumah Nelson hwever pulled on back for Liberty Professionals just before the match ended.
