Malta Guinness WPL: Lady Strikers hold Hasaacas Ladies in Southern Zone

Faith Ladies posted a 3-1 win against Ridge City FC courtesy of goals from Emmanuella Johnson’s brace and an own-goal from Mystical Amenuveve.

Amenuveve's own goal broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute in an attempt to clear the ball from the goalpost. Emmanuella Johnson added to the tally in the 60th minute before Cecelia Agyiri reduced the deficit eight minutes after Johnson’s second goal.

The substitute ballooned the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Mary Neequaye to give Ridge City a glimmer of hope but Faith Ladies, who were desperate for a win to close the gap on Hasaacas Ladies restored their two goal advantage in the 86th minute when Emmanuella Johnson scored from outside the 18-yard box to end the game 3-1 for her team. Faith Ladies are still second spot in the League log, one point adrift of leaders, Hasaacas Ladies.

In Cape Coast - Ladystrikers delayed Hasaacas Ladies celebration party after holding them to a one all draw at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

Strikers needed a draw or win to give them a boost in their battle against relegation whiles Hasaacas Ladies went in with a winning mentality to close the docket on the Southern Zone.

Mary Opoku Ndali opened the scoring for Hasaacas Ladies in the 9th minute to give the former a well deserved lead.

Ladystrikers begun the second half with an aggressive approach and found the back of the net two minutes after the break as they converted from the spot. Deborah Annoh confidently sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to give LadyStrikers the equalizer.
