Medeama SC secured their first win in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup with a 3-1 win over Young Africans on Tuesday at the Sekondi stadium.
The Ghanaian side who were playing their fourth group match, opened scoring in the 7th minute with Daniel Amoah's goal before Abass Mohammed doubled the lead in the 25th minute.
Simon Msuva pulled one back for the East Africans but Abass got a second and Medeama's third with eight minutes to the first half break.
The scoreline remained same in the second half with the win brightening Medeama’s chances of making it past the group stage after going level on points (5 points) with Algeria’s MO Bejaia.
The Mauves will travel to Algeria to face MO Bejaia before hosting Table toppers TP Mazembe at home.
