AshantiGold grabbed the Adansi derby spoils, winning 2-1 against New Edubiase on Wednesday to hand coach Bashir Hayford his first win since assuming the Miners job.
The visitors drew first blood at the Len Clay Stadium when Stephen Manu scored in the 8th minute to stun the home crowd.
Having gone three matches without a win under Hayford, it was looking like a familiar script until Mohammed Latif drew the Miners level in the 47th minute.
Then in the 66th minute, Alhaji Sani put AshantiGold in the lead.
The goal by Sani made the difference as the Miners win their first game in four matches in the second round of the league.
