Sulley Muntari has set his sights on winning a place in Ghana's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad after declaring himself "fully ready."

The Ghana and AC Milan midfielder has recovered from a knee injury sustained in June which has kept him out of the game till date.

"I’m feeling really good and with God’s will I hope to be back playing with AC Milan again next week,” Muntari said in a statement on Monday.

"I want to thank everyone for their support during this time of my comeback," he added.

With Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah set to announce his Black Stars team for the Nations Cup finals in South Africa in the coming days, Muntari is eager to make the squad, saying he is in contention for a place.

"I’m working really hard and intend to be fully ready to fulfill my duties for my country for the CAN 2013," he said.

"The Ghana FA has not made a firm decision yet on any player, but as far as I know I am still in strong contention for a place on the team."

"I can’t wait to get back into it and I want to give my contribution to the team," Muntari concluded.
