Nania, Kotoko to meet the media

Finalists, FC Nania and Asante Kotoko will engage the media today ahead of the MTN FA Cup final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday 24 July.

Both sides would be appearing before media at the Conference room of the Ghana Football Association, with the proceedings starting at 11am.

Either side is seeking to lift the trophy with the winner taking the cash prize of GHS 20,000 while the losing finalist picks GHS 10,000.

112 sides have been involved in the Cup competition which begun in December 2010.

The final match would represent a total of 111 games in the Cup competition.

Second-tier side, Nania, the home team in the final, it's been six games so far - a game more than their opponents in the finals - having started off the competition in the preliminary round with a 1-0 win against Juantex FC before posting a 4-0 victory past Mighty Youngsters in the Round of 64.

Nania were 1-0 winners in their Round of 32 fixture over Kintampo Zamalek before sailing through in the Round of 16 by a 2-0 win against Unity FC.

They managed a 1-0 win past D'international to advance to the semi-finals where they beat premier league champions, Berekum Chelsea 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Asante Kotoko have five games till date as they joined the campaign in the Round of 64, beating Danbort FC 3-0 before closing advancing from the Round of 32 after a 3-2 victory past Depotivo.

The last 16 fixture saw Kotoko narrowly avoid elimination as they won 11-10 on penalties against Aduana Stars after drawing 2-2 in fulltime.

Kotoko defeated Heart of Lions 3-1 in the quarter-finals and went on to win their last four fixture 5 - 4 on penalties against Wa All Stars after drawing goalless in regulation time.
