Ghana midfielder Richmond Nketiah is recuperating well after a poor tackle left him injured during the Black Satellites' group game at the Africa Youth Championship against Gambia.

Nketiah was caught by a two-footed challenge from Jammeh Baboucarr during Friday's game with Gambia which ended 1-1 and had to be rushed to the hospital. The tackle earned him the red card.

Though the medical staff suspected a fracture to the right-ankle, team physiotherapist, Joseph Ankomah today confirmed that scans have proved otherwise.

The player has also expressed relief following the results from the scan and says the pain around the area has gone down considerably.

Ghana play Cameroon in the last Group B game with Orlando Wellington's side needing a win to boost their chances of qualifying for the semi-final competition.
