Participating schools in the FIFA girls' Football campaign have been taken through Safeguard training in Kumasi. The training was led by Ashanti Regional Football Association Women’s Committee chairperson, Evelyn Nsiah Asare.

She lectured the participating schools on safeguarding protocols in accordance with FIFA’s effort to implement best practice to keep children safe and ensure involvement in football as fun for all.

The participating schools were also educated on the importance of giving young football players a safe and encouraging atmosphere to develop.

“We know how important the growth of Women’s football is to the GFA so there is a need to introduce it at the grassroots level for all girls to get the chance to showcase their talent. The Association is making sure every child who dreams of playing football does so in a safe and encouraging setting’’ Madam Evelyn Nsiah Asare said.

“The GFA is committed to creating a culture of safety, respect, and support among football players and you young girls are no exception. We will protect every child involved in the game so they can exhibit their talent to their full potential” – she added.

The Objectives of the FIFA Women's Football Campaign are as follows:

  1. Boost Women's football competitions with small-sided games
  2. Provide conceptual support for a personalized approach
  3. Raise the profile of women's football and advocate for access and equal opportunities
