Pictures: Catch Them Young Referees make great impact at 2026 X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup

The 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup has successfully come to an end, with the Catch Them Young referees making a significant impact throughout the competition.

As part of the Ghana Football Association's efforts to improve and develop the standard of officiating, the Catch Them Young Referee Policy was introduced to identify, develop and provide opportunities for young referees to gain valuable experience at a competitive level.

The initiative took centre stage at the fifth edition of the X1 DOL Super Cup in Obuasi, where 16 young referees were appointed to officiate the tournament. The group comprised eight centre referees and eight assistant referees.

The young officials successfully completed the competition, gaining valuable experience and showcasing their abilities on one of the biggest stages of the X1 DOL calendar.

Their performances throughout the tournament highlight the importance of investing in the next generation of match officials and providing them with opportunities to develop their skills.
