The Football Association has granted Ghana Premier League clubs the full net gate proceeds from Premier League matches for the 2024-25 season.

This follows a meeting held earlier  at the start of the season between the leadership of the Association and the Premier League clubs.

The move by the Football Association is aimed at supporting clubs, some of which rely heavily on match-day revenue to support their expenditure.

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku met  representatives of Premier League Clubs weeks ago to deliberate on ways of enhancing the League.

Among a host of strategies considered to alleviate the financial burden on clubs, the GFA decided to allow the clubs to retain the full net gate proceeds from Premier League matches, a decision that was overwhelmingly welcomed by the Premier League clubs.

The Clubs have rallied behind the decision as a first step in finding more ways of bringing back the fans and reducing their financial burden.

The GFA assured the clubs that it would continue to promote the Premier League but tasked the clubs to also promote their matches as well  protect their gates as the net revenue generated fully goes to the club.

It would be recalled that the President of the Association stated at Congress that the Association would deploy policies to bring more supporters to the various competition's.
