There are FIVE (5) exciting matches which takes pace across the country on Sunday September 22, 2024, in the Premier League with Hearts of Oak eyeing redemption, while Asante Kotoko aim to continue their positive start.

GoldStars FC host Basake Holy Stars at the Duns Park in Bibiani in a tricky match week 3 fixture of the Premier League. Kick off 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

The home side have had the longer period of rest after their match week 2 fixture against Samartex was postponed due to continental assignment.

They will be aiming to bag their second straight win of the season when they entertain the Premier League new boys at home.

However, Basake Holy Stars won't be pushovers after picking four points from their opening two matches. They beat giants Hearts of Oak in Accra and drew goalless at home to Dreams FC.

They will hope to continue with that impressive form on Sunday in Bibiani. The New Boys are yet to concede a goal in the league and are currently 5th on the league table.

The two sides are meeting for the first time in the league after the Aiyinase lads gained promotion into the top flight this season. Kick off 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

Two Premier League sides in need of emergency oxygen clash at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex when Karela United FC host Accra Lions on Sunday.

It’s been very toilsome for the Tamale based Karela United into the new season. They are pointless in their first two games, losing 1-0 at home to Asante Kotoko SC and repeating same score line away from home to Berekum Chelsea ahead of this fixture. They will be hoping to record their first win on home soil on Sunday.

Accra Lions have endured an unpleasant start to the season, recording back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches. They lost 2-0 at home to Vision FC, which followed their 1-0 defeat at Medeama SC in the season's opener.

Despite their unflattering start to the season, Accra Lions were the fourth best away side in the league last season. Kick off 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

Karela United have played Accra Lions three times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with Karela United winning one, drawing one and losing one. In the 2021/22 season, Karela United beat Accra Lions 3-0, lost 1-2 in the 2022/23 season and drew 1-1 in the 2023/24 season.

Aduana FC take on Nations FC at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on match week 3 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday September 22, 2024.

The two-time Premier League winners, kicked off their campaign with a draw at home to Heart of Lions and a stalemate at Bechem United.

The Fire Club will take encouragement from those two draws despite scoring once so far. After recording 40 points at home last season, Aduana FC will hope to keep on with that stellar performance in their home games this season.

Nations FC also arrives in Dormaa off the back of consecutive draws in their previous encounters against Bechem United and newly promoted side Young Apostles FC. They managed to keep a clean sheet in those two games. Kick off 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

Coach Ocansey Mingle Kassim side will hope that their performance in the opening matches will not allow complacency to break the momentum gained so far as they hit the road, where they really struggled a lot last season.

Aduana FC have played Nations FC once at home in the league since the Abrankese side gained promotion into the premiership last season with the Fire Club winning in a 1-0 score line.

Asante Kotoko SC will play at their adopted home ground of Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi for the first time on Sunday when they entertain Young Apostles FC. 

The Porcupine Warriors were on standby last weekend due to the postponement of their match week 2 match against Nsoatreman FC, who are currently participating in the on-going TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Asante Kotoko were among the least performing home sides last season and head coach Prosper N. Ogum will be keen to secure victory in his first game at home against the new boys who are seen as underdogs in this encounter. Kick off 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

Two goals from last season Premier League title contenders Nsoatreman FC condemned Premier League newcomers Young Apostles to their first defeat in the top flight. Despite their opening day defeat, Young Apostles managed to share the spoils in their game against Nations FC prior to this clash. Young Apostles will be looking forward to record their first victory of the season in what appears a mounting task.

Asante Kotoko are facing Young Apostles for the first time in the league since the Aiyinase lads gained promotion into the top tier this season.

Hearts of Oak entertain Bechem United at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday. Kick off 18:00 GMT (6pm local time).

It’s hardly been the ideal start to the 2024/25 Premier League season for the Phobians. They Ghanaian giants are winless in their opening two matches and are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table. Abubakar Ouattara's side must pull the chestnut out of the blazing fire to record their first win of the season.

However, they face a visiting Bechem United side, equally desperate for their first win of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign. United drew goalless at Nations FC and at home against Aduana FC respectively.

Hearts of Oak have played Bechem United four times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with Hearts of Oak winning two, drawing one and losing one.

In the 2020/21 season, Hearts of Oak beat Bechem United 6-1, drew goalless in the 2021/22 season, lost 1-2 in the 2022/23 season and recorded a 1-0 victory in the 2023/24 season.
