As part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the integrity of football in Ghana, the Association (GFA), through its Integrity Office, successfully organised a training session for Ghana Premier League (GPL) referees on football integrity.

The session was led by Obed Tuffour, GFA Integrity Officer, and focused on critical issues related to match-fixing, match manipulation, and betting ahead of the start of the GPL season in four days.

The training sought to equip referees with the necessary knowledge and tools to identify, resist, and report any attempts at compromising the integrity of the game.

With the start of the 2024/25 GPL season on the horizon, the GFA is keen on ensuring that all match officials uphold the Integrity of the game.

"The Ghana Football Association is dedicated to preserving the purity of the beautiful game, and the role of referees in this endeavour cannot be overemphasised. This training is part of a larger initiative to promote a culture of integrity across all levels of football in the country," he said while addressing the referees.

The GFA Integrity Office continues to conduct training and awareness programs across various football divisions to foster a culture of integrity in the sport.

The referees also signed the integrity declaration form as part of the efforts to tackle the menace affecting the attractiveness of the game.
