Premiership move excites Mensah

Ghana international, John Mensah has spoken of his interest to move to England this summer.

John Mensah, long-term transfer target of Reading is also in the books of Harry Redknapp with Portsmouth also reported to be ineterested in adding the Rennes defender to the squad.

Mensah admits he would love the chance to move to the Premier League and Pompey are now a real option as he seeks to join former Rennes team-mate John Utaka, who moved to Fratton Park last year.

"I would be happy to join him. I think it is a good place for an African player," Mensah told The Sun.

"In the past Reading spoke about me and I know they are still interested.

"But with Portsmouth joining the picture it has made it even more interesting."

Despite the Portsmouth option, the Ghanaian player says there are also other Premier League clubs interested.

"They are not the only top English club keen on me."
